Open Records Request - City of Sugar Land - Voter Initiative Opposing Apartments
Mr. Sheffield,
This
is to acknowledge receipt of your open records request wherein you requested: “to review the legal opinion from the
City that the voter initiative to oppose apartments will not be placed on the ballot by the city even if the required number
of signatures are obtained.”
In accordance with Section 552.301
of the Texas Public Information Act, the City will be asking for a decision from the attorney general about whether the information
is within the exception in Section 552.107, regarding attorney-client privileged communication.
The
Attorney General has 45 business days, pursuant to Section 552.306 of the Texas Public Information Act, to render a decision,
but may extend the period for response by an additional 10 business days, if needed.
